2025 New Hampshire Wedding Trends
If you are looking for inspiration while you plan the details of your 2025 New Hampshire wedding, you have come to the right place. Although 2025 is well underway, and some of you have already done the lion’s share of your wedding planning – others are just beginning to map out the details that will make it truly yours. Whether you are at the beginning of your New Hampshire wedding planning journey or are nearing the finish line – there is something here for you. We have researched the top-ranking articles on current wedding trends and spoken to other wedding venue owners and planners to compile a list of the trends gaining popularity as we move into 2025.
What’s in?
1. Refined simplicity/Luxe minimalism – Wedding professionals across the country are seeing an emphasis on high-quality items/materials while cutting down on excess. Couples are opting for a more minimalistic approach to tablescapes, dresses, décor, ceremonies, and food offerings while ensuring that what remains is luxurious and high-end. If this sounds like what you’re going for, we suggest choosing a locally owned wedding venue that is either a neutral, blank slate, or hits your vibe goals without the need for much additional decoration.

2. Unique/personal touches – We are seeing couples favor personal touches over more commonly used items. For example, using photos of the couple throughout the years as table numbers on each table, or one of our favorites – shaking table numbers all together and naming the tables after places you’ve travelled together or mountains you’ve hiked accompanied by photos from each adventure as table décor.
3. Smaller/intimate weddings – The average size of weddings seems to be on a downward trend. Couples are choosing to spend their budget on creating a more unique, personalized, and high-end experience for their A-list guests rather than spreading that budget thin across as many guests as their venue can fit. We are seeing a shift in priorities towards spending their day/weekend with those who matter most and having the time to make memories with each one of them.
4. Guest experience as a priority – In alignment with more intimate weddings is an increased focus on guest experience. Couples are opting for multi-day events with a focus on spending quality time together. We are seeing a significant rise in wedding weekend timelines that include multiple events like rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, and farewell brunches.

5. Wellness activities – In alignment with a focus on guest experience and an uptick in satellite activities, we are seeing increased interest in wellness-related activities planned throughout the weekend. This might include a welcome pickleball tournament to kick off the weekend, a group yoga class before getting ready or the morning after, organized group hikes to explore the area, etc. We suggest thinking about asking your photographer to tag along to capture the magic as teams of your best friends and family get involved in the activities you love.

6. Simplifying the bar – We are seeing many couples carrying the minimalist vibes over to the bar as well – opting for limited signature offerings that reflect the couple instead of stocking a full bar.
““Ready-to-drink cocktails mean no waiting, no slowing down—just perfectly mixed drinks in hand, all night long. From the first toast to the last song, the party keeps moving, and the night never skips a beat.” ”
Our in-house bar service utilizes compostable cups and includes a specialist to help plan offerings that fit your style and budget.
Ready-to-drink cocktails not only reduce lines, but they create consistency, limit the budget spent on the bar, and help keep bar planning to a minimum.
7. A focus on sustainability – From invitations to event day, we are seeing an increased desire to keep events as sustainable as possible. This may look like hiring vendors who share your sustainability goals, patronizing flower farms with sustainable growing practices, purchasing faux florals that can be used again, using sustainable stationary and skipping added inserts, or opting for reusable/compostable serviceware. All digital invites are on the rise due to the ease of interactive features like instant RSVPs, instant and easy communication with guests, the ability to view menus, seating charts, sign guestbooks, and add to galleries all from the convenience of your phone.
“These digital tools, accessible via smartphones or tablets, allow guests to easily navigate the event, leave heartfelt messages for the couple, and stay informed about the day’s schedule — all while reducing paper waste.”
At Cold Spring Farm, you’ll find sustainability-minded vendors on our ‘Vendors We Love’ page and our in-house bar service comes complete with eco-friendly compostable cups, straws, and napkins at no extra cost.

8. Vintage Aesthetic – In alignment with an increased interest in sustainability, we are seeing our couples opt for vintage gowns, décor, and vibes, bringing in antique settees for photo set-ups, antique mirrors for signs, and utilizing film photography. An increasing amount of amazing photographers are offering packages where they will capture the day on both digital and film cameras. Film can bring a nostalgic, raw, and authentic feel to your photos that digital images can’t quite recreate.
9. Private vows and first look – Many couples are choosing to go with a first look before reading their vows privately to each other before their guests arrive. This not only creates a sweet and intimate moment for you two to slow down before everything ramps up, but it can also be incredibly beneficial to your photo timeline. If you can take even just some couples portraits (or better yet, wedding party and family portraits) before your guests arrive – you’ll have more time to spend with your guests at cocktail hour instead of having to disappear for a photo shoot.

10. Shaking Tradition – We are seeing more and more couples leaving traditions behind in favor of details that more accurately represent them as a couple, and we are here for it. Just because we have always done something, doesn’t mean it’s right for you. If certain traditions do not resonate with you, don’t feel obligated to participate in them.
Many couples are going without wedding parties, choosing to get ready together, bouquet dedications over tosses, sibling or best friend officiants, skipping the cake cutting, or simply foregoing all formalities in favor of throwing the timeline to the wind and enjoying an unstructured night with their loved ones. Whatever it is that resonates most with you as a couple is exactly what you should do.
11. Content Creation – With social media becoming an increasingly prominent part of our lives, more couples are opting to hire a content creator in addition to their traditional photographers. Wedding content creators capture unedited, authentic moments for both the couple and the hired vendors and turn them into amazing content for social media. In a world of instant gratification, couples are loving the ability to see photos from their event as soon as they get home that night or when they wake up the next morning. Vendors are also incredibly appreciative of being featured in this professional content. We heavily suggest coordinating with your photographer and videographer on logistics if you plan to bring in a content creator, especially if they intend to use any gear besides a phone.
What’s out?
1. Far/random travel – In alignment with the overall theme of a more personal wedding, we’re seeing more couples choose to stay close to home or choose destinations with sentimental meaning to them as a couple.
2. Welcome bags – Instead of spending on welcome bags full of random items guests might have forgotten to pack, consider offering an edible/drinkable gift along with a handwritten note instead. We love the idea of fresh baked goods from a small local bakery, or drink vouchers for the hotel bar with a sweet handwritten note telling them when to meet you there.
3. Rigid Dress Codes – In alignment with an increased focus on guest experience, we are seeing couples encourage their guests to wear what makes them comfortable (both physically and financially,) instead of limiting colors or encouraging strictly black tie.

4. Matching everything – The “perfectly imperfect” feel is on the rise with more couples choosing a color palette for wedding party attire in lieu of choosing just one or two colors; artfully mixing textures, colors, and different fabrics for a look that remains cohesive without feeling too rigid. Not only is this an amazing look, but it allows your bridal party to choose styles they are comfortable with rather than stressing out over finding a style that works for every body-type.
5. Boutonnieres – Pocket squares are making a comeback. They are an economical choice and tend to give a classy, clean, minimalist look while avoiding the need for pinning through the suit (a potential issue for rented suits.) For those who love flowers (like us,) we suggest meeting somewhere in the middle and considering the pocket boutonniere which slides right into the pocket, skipping the need for pins as well.
6. Elaborate Centerpieces/tablescapes – Preferring an ‘effortless’ vibe with sustainability in mind, 2025 couples are foregoing traditional large centerpieces in favor of a more elegant and understated look. Think photos and personal touches or simple natural florals that complement the venue rather than overpower it.
Simple and elegant bud vases add fresh and vibrant color to the tablescape without the need for a large centerpiece.
